The purpose of the Chautauqua-Conewango Consortium is to protect the waters, both surface and underground, of the region. That protection is based on everyone’s right to clean water for drinking, fishing, and swimming. We communicate and publicize scientific information about clean water, support the scientific research done by local individuals and institutions that know the region and provide a forum to allow community members to engage in citizen science and report concerns about the region’s water for proper action. In short, the Chautauqua-Conewango Consortium acts as the voice for clean water within our watershed for the common good of the people and the environment of our region.
