Warmest Summer Greetings,
I hope you are well and have been able to enjoy being outside during this year of change and uncertainty. I’m sure you’ll agree that being near and around water has always made our outdoor experiences here more complete.
Water is a part of us and I am inviting you to be a part of protecting it. On April 1, 2020, the Chautauqua-Conewango Consortium, a Waterkeeper Alliance Affiliate was created, to serve as the voice of protection for our region’s water, both surface and ground, and all of the creatures who depend on it. I am inviting you to join us and become a member.
Please explore our website at https://www.cccwaters.org/. You’ll discover that we believe that healthy water systems benefit people and nature, that science-based information directs our plans, and that the health of the water is everyone’s responsibility. You’ll also find a map illustrating the Conewango Creek watershed, which combines several watersheds including those of Chautauqua, Cassadaga, and Bear Lakes.
Help strengthen our group voice by adding yours. Members will receive e-mail updates and calls to action concerning the Chautauqua-Conewango watershed as well as alerts and best practice information from other water advocates around the region and the world. This advocacy, education, and research is supported by our ties to the international organization, Waterkeeper Alliance because of our Waterkeeper Affiliate status. To see the extent of their efforts, go to https://waterkeeper.org/.
Do you share our vision that everyone has a right to clean swimmable, fishable, and drinkable water?
Then please join us.
For the water,
~Melanie
